First Field Flowers Here!
We completely, almost, missed the Peonies this year. Somehow, between my 3 growers, and a bit of hesitation on my part, we got 2 batches of Peonies from the Colorado flower fields. One grower contracted the whole crop out to Whole Foods basically, and I got left in the dust. The other grower is so unreliable that he made a one time appearance and never came back. And the 3rd never followed up, and I wasn't willing to book in a standing order for a huge lot of them. Oh well, so it goes.
The other field flowers started though! Today we got Yarrow, Veronica, Iris, and some Ornamental Grasses. There should be some more items starting soon, and then eventually Sunflowers galore. I really love mixing the wild looking stuff with my other locally greenhouse grown product and Orchids or other Tropical flowers. I will try to get some photos of these arrangements up soon.
In the meantime, I have a nice photograph of me to share. This was taken a couple of weeks ago up in the Medicine Bow Snowy Range mountains in Wyoming. Michael and I went for a quick car camping trip to my favorite hot springs. Hoping to close up and get out of town a few more times this summer, so call first if you are thinking you might stop by on a Saturday. You never know when I am going to try to escape for a little relaxation now that things have slowed down for the summer some.
